Clay Shooting - Charity Events

The Chris King Annual Memorial Shoot

Chris King was employed by North Devon Shooting Ground prior to joining the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards. It had always been Chris' ambition to join the army and when his application was successful he volunteered to go to Afghanistan. Unfortunately Chris was killed in 2009 by an improvised explosive device whilst on foot patrol.

We held a shoot in his memory in November 2009 and raised £1800 and received tremendous support. We have decided to make the shoot an annual event and all proceeds will be split between Help for Heroes and The North Devon Army Cadets, of which Chris was a member.

.

Our last shoot was held on the 28th May 2016 where £1,800 was raised.  We decided not to hold the shoot in 2017, but have advised customers to watch this space and we will let you know if we are running another one.  Thank you very much to our sponsors - mainly Clay Pigeon Company for a contribution of clays..  Also many thanks to our friends and shops who donated auction and raffle prizes and to all the people who gave up their day to score and help us out.  In total we have raised almost £18,000 since the event started.

The Maria Cooper Memorial Shoot 2019

In February 2019 we held the Maria Cooper Memorial Shoot.  We helped raise just over £2000 for the family of Maria for her treatment of breast cancer.  Sadly Maria passed away during her treatment and the money raised was sent to her family to help pay for the cost of her treatment and her funeral.
